KICKS/HI quickstrike tee just in time for Halloween. "Orange Passion" is a play on the wild popular Passion Orange juice drank-as well as paying homage to our shop color: orange. Handdrawn lettering by this handsome guy:
His name is Lucky and he is an amazing artist. You can see his work here. His line, color, and shading continually impresses me with every new piece. The "Orange Passion" tee drops this Saturday at both KICKS/HI Ward + Makaloa shops and also in our KICKS/HI Online Store.
NIKE QUICKSTRIKE "DAY of the DEAD" PACK: DUNK HIGH PREMIUM + AM90 PREMIUM // SATURDAY, 103109 RELEASE:
"The Day of the Dead (El Día de los Muertos or All Souls' Day) is a holiday celebrated in Mexico and by Latin Americans living in the United States and Canada. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died." The AM90 Premium and Dunk Hi Premium both feature premium, black leather uppers with purple, yellow, orange and lime, which are all colors synonymous with the festival. The AM90 has swirling colors through the mid upper, and the Dunk High has this really dope skull and floral graphic which is lazer etched into the panels. Two very nice shoes and a good theme. Both the "Day of the Dead" AM90 Premium and Dunk High Premium will be available in Hawaii, exclusively at our Makaloa shop this Saturday.

NIKE QUICKSTRIKE: AIR ROYAL MID // SATURDAY, 103109 RELEASE:
Remember the Elan Quickstrike from late last year/earlier this year? Well the Air Royal is the mid top version of that shoe. Inspired by rugged work wear-especially work boots, this shoe features: hex shaped metal eyelets, 2-tone round laces with metal lace ends (2 sets), refined contrast stitching on the upper and cupsole, deboss logo's with gloss prints, and tongue size perf detail. The leather is super premium (it is soooo buttery!). This silhouette is definitely on track with how a lot of the market is moving back towards refined work wear-something you can as easily wear to a dinner with a v-neck and sport coat as you could rock on the daily with good denim. HUF with yet another certified banger! They had me right out the box. So official! Good lord! Old Skool silhouette too (one of my faves). Canvas upper with suede toe and leather heel. A subtle triangle pattern graphic on the laces and around the top of the midsole. Circle H logo on the tongue tag, on the insole and embroidered on the heel. TIMBERLAND ABINGTON FALL 2009 COLLECTION:
I love the progression in the Abington line-stick to classic silhouettes and use premium materials to build rugged yet smooth, work wear influenced shoes and boots. The latest Fall 2009 shoes are absolutely bananas and my photos do not do them justice-they need to be witnessed in person. Speaking of witnesses, I also love how they got the homie, 13th witness, to shoot their last couple of lookbook catalogs-beautiful pics. Thematically, there is a running touch of light mustard yellow throughout each shoe in some detail or other-be it a snap on the back heel pull, a lacelet, leather quilted inner lining, etc. All in all, another great group of shoes.
