We apologize to all our great friends and fam who have been waiting on, calling for and e-mailing about this shoe, but we simply can't sell something we don't have. Please have patience and we will make sure to announce the new release date for the shoe.
The shoe release aside, we had already planned a great beach clean up tie-in and launch party for the KICKS/HI x REEBOK PUMP shoe, which we will still be going ahead with.
BEACH CLEAN-UP @ KAIMANA BEACH // SATURDAY MORNING 11.21.09:
The entire design and story for our KICKS/HI x REEBOK PUMP shoe is inspired by the ocean and our connection to it-especially us living in Hawaii who are surrounded by its power, beauty and resources every day. The idea of "never turning your back on the ocean" works on two levels: 1) the raw power of the ocean's current can instantly sweep even the strongest of swimmers out to sea in a flash, which is physically why you should never turn your back to ocean-especially when you are on the shorebreak, but also: 2) if we don't continue to take care of the ocean by eliminating pollution to its waters and beaches, the resources that the ocean provides will diminish greatly, which affects every living animal and being because it is such an integral part of the ecosystem and environment.
We invite you, your friends, your family, your neighbors, your calabash uncles, etc. to come down to Kaimana Beach this Saturday morning, 11.21.09, for a little clean-up of this super popular town family gathering area. We will be meeting up at 1000A in front of the Natatorium. We will be providing: trash bags, gloves, and refreshments (courtesy of our generous friends at Red Bull). KICKS/HI will be giving out free KICKS/HI snapback caps to the first 50 volunteers that show up. Please kokua and come through. You can stay for 10 minutes or 2 hours. Its really the initiative and effort on all of your parts that will make this work and be productive. Thanks in advance to all of you for being aware and caring for the world we live in.
And beyond this one event, if you see trash on the beach-its not that hard to pick it up and throw it in a trash can because inevitably it only is preserving the beauty of Hawaii's ocean for our kids and their kids and so on.
SHAKE+POP: KICKS/HI x REEBOK PUMP LAUNCH PARTY @ THIRTYNINEHOTEL // SATURDAY NIGHT 11.21.09:
Later on in the evening this Saturday night, 11.21.09, from 900P-200A, we will be jumping off the launch party at "SHAKE+POP", which is one of Hawaii's premier monthly dance parties. Every third Saturday of the month, everyone packs into thirtyninehotel (39 hotel st, chinatown HI) to dance it out to the sounds of Nocturnal Sound x SUPERHANDSOME. This month should be the craziest S+P to date, as KICKS/HI and Reebok have very generously helped to make this party ABSOLUTELY FREE! NO COVER ALL NIGHT LONG! So tell a friend to bring a friend, and we can all be friends! Speaking of friends, our really good buddy, KICKS/HI and Saint Alfred collaborator, and amazing DJ in his own right: FOURCOLORZACK flew in from Seattle just to spin a major, major set for y'all. The dude is good. Trust me.
